Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word document format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

All submissions must be 8,000 words or less and must include a brief abstract, supporting infographics, research data, and references. Cover letters are also welcome with submitted materials.  While the American Psychological Association (APA) is the default writing style expectation, articles should follow the writing style guidelines that are standard in their discipline, e.g. American Psychological Association (APA), Turabian, or Modern Language Association (MLA).  The author's name(s) must be included on a separate sheet of paper accompanying the submission.  With the exception of citations, the article should not include the author’s name anywhere within the text i.e. headers, for the peer review process. Please visit for further APA formatting information. Submitted work should also be free of spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors.
